chris-en-hils > The next day we took the 'tramway du mont blanc' up to the clacier as a bit of daytripper fun. This is the old tramhouse. On the way there the tram broke down for a long time and we therefore missed our cablecabin ride down to Les Houches. With the sun setting we had little alternative then to walk down the mountain ending the day on a adventurous note. After a nice dinner we undertook the long ride back to the Netherlands ending our vacation short but with a pleasantly relaxed feeling. This will surely get me trough a few months!

chris-en-hils > My knees began to hurt so we cut our tour short (we want to make more trips like this you know!) and took the route back. We crossed this old roman bridge (of which Bobby was convinced that many slaves died building it...).
chris-en-hils > After yet another grueling ascent and even a small detour we arrived in the 'Refuge de Mnt Joly' where the hostess promptly handed us a beer. After the cheese fondue we climbed a small hill and enjoyed this view over the valleys and the Mnt Blanc. Sunset soon set in and with a beer in hand we had the best of times.
