chris-en-hils > The climbs were heavy as allways but the views made up for that. In all this was the best of all days and for a large part due to the views.
chris-en-hils > The third day started off high in the mountains.
chris-en-hils > Breakfast through my eyes. Bobby always looks like a elderly rock god in the morning but cleans up during the day (when i start to decline from exhaustion)
chris-en-hils > Breakfast in the morning. We were the only ones in the refuge but the atmosphere was still pleasant.
chris-en-hils > Bobby checking the route at a small stop. Our trusted 'Noes de stoeipoes' (ed: translated: Noes the playkitten; author of our walking guide) was somewhat inhuman in her walking hours estimations so we frequently checked it for ourselves as well.
chris-en-hils > For reasons unknown, Bobby had torn most of his (only warm) pants to shreds during the ascent, transforming it into a super airy one (especially in the crotch section). On the photo: Bobby 'airing' and getting ready for the descent while talking to a fellow hiker, planning on hiking to Nice.
chris-en-hils > The first day of the hike took us through forrests and across clacier descents and ended in the valley behind the hill in the right upper corner of the shot. In the background the Mnt Blanc around which the TMB circles.
chris-en-hils > After surviving even the motorways of Belgium, we arrived in Les Houches, France just in time for the beers (extra heavy traditionally brewed of course) and a game of pool. Needless to say the beers hit the spot and we were glad we were even able to finish our last game. The next day we left luxury and headed into the mountains. A self portrait at the start when we were still fresh as fruit.
chris-en-hils > Bart and Bobby preparing for their hiking trip this summer - Somewhere between Zoetermeer and Delft '08
